judes cross county

What am I doing? Oh right, yeah cross country. We walked down the road to coranation parkand everyone was bubbling with joy. When we arrived we were all excited and happy. That was until we ran. My cherry red cheeks gave away the fake smile I gave to the college teachers. I was puffed and I had to run another lap! Keep going I said to myself. The teachers cheered me on as I went up the steep, annoying hill.my legs were getting tired, but I didn't give up. I went two laps without stopping. Ok, I stopped once, but oh well! Heavy breathing was all I could let out of my mouth. I coulden't even talk.I relaxed on the grass and soon we were walking back. I'm so prould and I think I did well! I only stopped oncebut, hey, all goods!

Camp El Rancho 2012

What a fantastic camp we had last week. As you would have seen in the previous post we had a great day 1 and days 2 and three were equally as awesome. The children, parents and teachers enjoyed the range of activities that were on offer. Big thank you to the El Rancho team and also to the Lido for opening the hydro slides for us.
Also a massive thank you to the parents who came with us. Without you it would not have been possible.

Jude's Duathalon Experience!!!

My heart was thumping, the butterflies in my stomach were squirming and right then I thought: i'm going to lose! As i hopped into the pool I felt a nervous shiner crawl up my spine. I looked to my left and right, the girls beside me looked very confident. Suddenly my mood changed, I was determined! Mr Saunders blew his whistle and off we went. We did two lenths of the pool and I was super fast! Before I knew it I was out of the pool running the track! I paced myself while the kids cheered me on. I was running like an ostrich getting chased by a tiger! As soon as I got out of the pool mrs Katon took my picture and cheered me on too! As soon as I got to the finish line I felt puffed and energetic! I couldn't believe it, no one had passed me and that means I won! After mourning tea I volenteered to be the rabit for the little children. I spent the whole middle block running the track showing them where to go! They were sooo cute! In the afternoon I got an ice-block for helping out. It was quite hot but it was worth the wait! I'm glad I didn't back out!

Buddy Games

We were lucky enough to be able to go outside the other afternoon and spend some time playing games with our buddies. We had an Awesome afternoon.

Matanganui Trip to the Square

On Friday 24th February we went with the rest of Matanganui to the Square in Palmerston North to investigate the history of the Square. Some of the things we found out were...
- Where the clock tower is now, use to be the train station.
- There is a memorial in the square to all those men and women who lost their lives during the great wars.
- There is a statue of Te Awe Awe who was a great Maori Leader who donated land to help develop        Palmerston North City
- There are 6 carved posts and 3 carved panels constructed in 1990 to honor the significance of the Maori name for the square, TE MARAE-O-HINE.
